Urban stormwater has been identified as a major source of pollution impacting the quality of Broward County canals, lakes, and natural areas. The Floranada Business District is an isolated drainage basin that has been separated from its natural discharge area. This leads to flooding after severe storm events.

Phase 2 of this project will include the completion of a pumping station and the installation of forcemain to convey stormwater to the C-14 canal.
