| Project Description: |
| Funds requested shall be used to construct a 10,000 Sq, Ft. area for use as an Educational and Cultural Resource Center to be developed in conjunction with the construction of a new Lauderdale Lakes Public Library facility on public lands. This facility will be operated in cooperation with the Broward County School Board, local Charter Schools and institutions of Higher Education to hold classes for improving FCAT scores in local schools, classes for General Equivalency Diploma (GED) training, adult education, the instruction of languages including: English, Spanish, Creole and others, and for college level classes. This facility will also be made available for community and civic groups and local non-profit institutions conducting activities that address the educational goals of the City of Lauderdale Lakes, Broward School Board and the State of Florida. Cultural Institutions and Civic Groups will be encouraged to utilize the facility for art classes and shows, poetry and literature events, and other activities that expand and explore cultural and artistic foundations of the diverse community of Lauderdale Lakes. |
