Describe, specifically, how it will reduce loadings, identify anticipated load reductions for total suspended solids, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other contaminants, and specify the practices that will be used to reduce loadings:
Loadings will be reduced by hydraulically and mechanically dredging approximately 253,000 cubic yards of accumulated muck and sediments from approximately 47 acres of Manatee Pocket. The resulting load reductions from resuspension of materials has not been estimated. In addition to the removal of accumulated muck, the project will create a detrital trap to catch sediments migrating downstream towards the Indian River and another component of the project will remove the veneer of mucky sediments down to bare mineral sands in an effort to create benthic habitat. The detrital trap will be ~1.1 acres and up to 4.35 acres will be dredged to create clean sandy substrate areas into which benthic flora and fauna can recruit.
Is the project under construction? No

Are you requesting funding for a wastewater project? No

Are you requesting funding for a drinking water project? No
