Project Description: |
Construction of multi-use facility that would serve as the transit operations center. This would include offices, meeting space, operations and dispatch centers, vehicle maintenance, and storage. |
|
Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? |
No |
|
Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The facility would serve as a multi-modal facility providing office space for Lake County Community Services/Transportation Division and Lake-Sumter MPO, public meeting rooms, a transfur station, fueling stations, bus wash facility, as well as a vehicle maintenance and storage facility.
The measurable outcome would be a centralized facility which would help reduce operational costs. Currently we have several park outs that we could eleminate. We would have a County owned facility and that would reduce the operational cost by no longer leasing space. It would enhance our security measures in an effort to prevent terrorism, better protecting our riders. It would provide a higher level of service to the citizens and visitors as well as increase their mobility options. It would also make Lake County more attractive to have connections with Lynx and Sun Tran which could increase local revinues with more visitors coming to Lake County. |
