Project Description: |
The Symbiont Geo-Thermal Pool Heating System will allow us to provide heated year round swimming for our community without the use of natural gas. This system would both heat and cool our 50-meter regulation pool, maintaining it at 82 degrees Fahrenheit, by implementing six Symbiont Model PH-215-RV geo-thermal heat pumps which use a refrigerant vapor compression cycle attached to a deep aquifer water well. This system is unaffected by outdoor air temperatures or sunshine and costs approximately 77 percent less to operate than natural gas. It is completely environmentally friendly because of the elimination of the use of 100,000 therms of natural gas per season (January through May). The system pays for itself from savings in only 4.3 years, enabling a 23.27 percent return on investment. Over its 20-year life expectancy, it will generate savings of over $850,000. The use of the Symbiont system would allow The Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center to offer a larger number and wider variety of aquatic and therapy programs throughout the winter months due to the tremendous cost savings incurred to maintain the pool at optimum temperature. The price of the project listed below includes complete commercial installation and a 5-year all-parts and labor warranty. This system is currently in use at the YMCA Tampa Metropolitan Area branch located at 16221 Compton Drive in Tampa, Florida. |
