Project Description:
Construction of a 20,210 gross sq.ft. (13,748 net sq. ft.) public health clinic to replace an existing 1955 facility and a leased modular unit at a separate site. Project will improve the provision of essential public health services and serve as part of the health care safety net to the low-income, unisured, and underinsured in northeastern Polk County. Services to be provided in new clinic include: maternity care, family planning, Healthy Start, WIC Supplemental Nutrition Program for women, infants, and children, chronic disease prevention services, immunizations, HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Sexually Transmitted Disease counseling, screening, and treatment.

Improve access to primary and preventative health care services and reduce health disparities in northeastern Polk County; reduce teen pregnancies, increase the proportion of pregnant women who receive early and adequate prenatal care; increase the proportion of mothers that breastfeed their infants.
