City of Wewahitchka Wastewater System Improvements

Requester: Chris Forehand, P.E. Organization: Preble-Rish, Inc. City Engineer

Project Title: City of Wewahitchka Wastewater System Improvements Date Submitted 1/3/2008 3:10:16 PM

Sponsors: Lawson

Statewide Interest:
The effluent discharge would be relocated from the Chipola River to upland sprayfields. Anytime, effluent discharge is removed from a Florida Outstanding water body, it improves the water quality. The improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Facility are needed due to population growth. The gravity sewer collection extensions are needed to serve other existing residents within the City and will remove them from individually owned septic systems. This also improves water quality. The impacts to the City are only positive in that it will improve their quality of life and water quality in their area.
