The Saenger Theatre is the only facility in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties which offers nationally produced touring and theatrical shows. This historic theatre is an integral part of the cultural community of Escambia County, serving the cultural, educational and recreational needs of Escambia County residents and the surrounding communities. The Saenger Theatre is listed on the National Historic Register. |

Project Description: |
This renovation and expansion project is a $16M project which consists of three primary components: 1) Stage and Performer Tech areas 2) Audience Chamber 3) Lobby and Meeting Spaces
The scope of each component is listed below:
1) Stage and Performer Tech Area-Create stage support spaces; install orchestra shell; expand orchestra pit; extend rigging to new stage area; expand sound system infrastructure; install new lighting system infrastructure; install wheel chair accessible lift at stage.
2) Audience Chamber-replace mechanical system; repair/replace electrical system; install new fire curtain; increase audience accessibility and comfort; upgrade electrical systems; install new finishes, room acoustics, etc.
3) Expansion Area: Expand existing building by approximately 27,000 sf to add new dressing rooms, storage, rehearsal space, meeting space, restrooms.
