Project Description: |
This request, totaling $1.8 million, is the third and final year of the Colleges three-year program to establish a modest but reliable academic and administrative infrastructure. The new funding will be used to fill remaining gaps in basic operations, including, but not limited to: adding new faculty lines to expand the depth and breath of the Colleges academic offerings in accordance with the academic strategic plan; development and implementation of a Quality Enhancement Plan to increase the quality and effectiveness of student learning and the overall quality of the institution; support for Cook Library collections and staffing; support to enhance retention and expand student leadership and community engagement opportunities; and additional operating funds and staffing for campus security, counseling/wellness, admissions/financial aid, business office, physical plant, and campus computing/telecommunications and other support services. |
|
Is this a project related to a federal or state declared disaster? |
No |
|
Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
The funding will enhance and broaden services in support of the Colleges academic programs and help the College maintain its national prominence as one of the nations top four public liberal arts colleges and one of the best values in public higher education.
The provision of enhanced student academic services, such as increased access to library resources and assistance, additional faculty lines, and writing center support will assist in the effort to foster a supportive co-curricular environment for all students. This supportive campus culture will enhance retention and improve the quality of student outcomes.
The additional administrative support and facilities operations and maintenance resources will provide relatively small (in SUS terms) but important incremental increases in existing Student Life, Counseling and Wellness, Police, Business Office, Campus Mail/Receiving, Campus Events Management, Public Affairs, Computing and Telecommunications, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources, Registrar, Admissions/Financial Aid and Physical Plant support services |
