Project Description:
The Cities of Titusville, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, West Melbourne, and Brevard County are evaluating construction of a Regional Space Coast sludge residual drying system. The purpose of this project is to provide a regional solution for biosolid processing capacity, using renewable methane gas and turbine waste heat energy, along with producing a beneficial product that could be used by the general public. This request would help to support aspects of the non-construction and construction phases of the project.

This regional dryer project will eliminate/minimize the hauling and land application of biosolids inclusive of total nitrogen and total phosphorus that run through direct and indirect sources to the Indian River Lagoon and parts of the Lake Okeechobee Basin.
