Statewide Interest: |
This project relates to the leadership commitment of the State to rapidly develop alternative and green energy sources, uses and applications. The State has recognized the need to train K-12 students to fully participate in these alternative energy solutions and to be trained for careers in these fields. The State also recognizes the economic impact of the re-engineering of energy while at the same time grasping the critical shortage of trained manpower in this and related fields. |

Project Description: |
This project trains regional middle and high schoolers for jobs in the alternative energy field and to pursue studies at the college level in the sciences. This training will be done through the development of new curriculum and instructional models that will be offered free of charge to school districts and coordinated with science teachers. The instruction will be available through a combination of special enrichment programming at the museum, with teacher training at schools, and video webcast sessions that students can download at home, anytime. |
