Project Description:
The POPS program will provide job skills training with an educational component targeted towards attaining a General Educational Development (GED) for those participants who are still enrolled in public school. This initiative will train and provide job placement assisstance upon completion of the program curriculum that will atrack enrolles for a period of twelve (12) months, gauging the necessity for enhanced job training interventions. Ancillary case management services will be referred to appropriate agencies regarding social service needs will also be provided; child care assistance, affordable housing, and referral for health screening needs, regarding social services needs.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The measurable outcomes that will be attained is that one hundred percent(100%) of the fifty (50) children/young adults between the ages of fifteen to eighteen (15-18)years of age will receive job development training and employment placement. Seventy-five percent(75%)will graduate and/or be promoted to their next grade level; Seventy-five percent(75%) will abstain from entering either the juvenile justice or adult corections system during the term of this program. Finally, one hundred percent(100%) of all participants will improve in the area of basic literacy after completion of this program.
