Project Description: |
Education & training programs for continuing education of Floridas emergency care providers and first responders. Funding will provide a statewide, uniform system for training for Florida- similar to the State Fire College model, but incorporating all sources of training, including but not limited to: onsite training; distance learning through technology; train-the-trainer sessions; and hands on training at the mobile simulation lab. Currently- though 80% of all 911 calls are health related, no statewide uniformed continuing education training is available for Floridas first responders as it relates to the life saving health care they provide. Over 7 million people were cared for in Florida last year by Floridas emergency care providers. |

Measurable Outcome Anticipated: |
Create a system of statewide, uniform training for Floridas first responders as demonstrated through evaluation of skills/knowledge, similar to the State Fire College. EMLRC is a nationally accredited provider of physician, nurse, paramedic and EMT continuing medical education. EMLRC has significant competency for rural healthcare training and the ability to bring the training and technology to rural providers with the mobile simulation lab. |
