Alternative RO Concentrate Disposal Site

Requester: Jack M. Schluckebier Organization: City of Melbourne

Project Title: Alternative RO Concentrate Disposal Site Date Submitted 1/4/2008 3:40:30 PM

Sponsors: Posey

Statewide Interest:
3. This capital outlay project will move the disposal site for the City of Melbourne's RO concentrate. Currently, the City of Melbourne is one of only a few Regional Public Water providers that disposes RO concentrate into surface water. Test results have prompted the FDEP to require us to further study and relocate our disposal site. Current modeling has indicated that an alternative site will greatly reduce our impact on the environment. This is invaluable project as other Regional Public Water providers look to discharge to surface waters
