Statewide Interest: |
This project meets the purposes of Section 252.373 for grants and loans to regional agencies and local governments to implement projects that will further state and local emergency management objectives, i.e. enhance coordination of relief efforts of statewide private sector organizations, and improve the training and operations capabilities of agencies assigned lead or support responsibilities in the state comprehensive emergency management plan. Priority consideration of funds must be given to hurricane evacuation shelter retrofit projects. Preferential funding is to be given to provide incentives to counties and municipalities to participate in mutual aid agreements. Tallahassee, Leon County and the Leon County Sheriff's have executed an interlocal agreement to pursue the Emergency Communications Center. |

Project Description: |
Leon County, the Leon County Sheriff, and the City of Tallahassee have executed an interlocal agreement to pursue a joint dispatch center for the purposes of dispatching all law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services. Due to the timing of local government budgeting, a match is not shown for this year, but is anticipated in both the city and county's next year's budget. |
