Project Description:
For sixty one years the Manatee Players has remained dedicated to its founding missionTo represent, enrich, and stimulate people through the art of live theatre by providing entertainment, education, and an artistic outlet. The Manatee Players serves as a resource for the community and strives to create a positive experience. After sixty years in its original and only home, the theatre is in desperate need of a new facility. Due to the organizations expanding audience, the areas rapid growth, and the continued reductions in arts education in Floridas schools, the Manatee Players is now providing more than just an opportunity to enjoy live entertainmentWe dont just entertain, We transform lives. Located on Floridas southwest coast, Manatee Players hometown of Bradenton is a historically working-class community with small town appeal that enjoys a strategic location between Tampa/St. Petersburg and Sarasota. The main components of the scope of work are outlined below. All spaces have been designed so that they can be partitioned and used by outside organizations. A 7,170 square foot, 300-seat Main Stage Hall A 1,576 square foot, 100-seat Youth/Studio Theatre Two multi-purpose classrooms, totaling 1,624 square feet A 672 square foot conference/media room Four dressing rooms, totaling 1,133 square feet (with adjacent toilets/showers) Scenery workshops and storage areas for costumes and props A theatrical archive and library space A 1,550 square foot private reception area Two full catering kitchens, one on each floor, for special events and facility rentals Adjacent free parking for a minimum of 125 vehicles, 7 of which will be handicapped-designated and located closest to the buildings entrance ADA-accessibility throughout the facility
