The Caloosahatchee Partners for Restoration have prioritized substantive water quality construction and restoration projects that will have a significant impact on reducing nutrient loads to impaired water bodies within the basin. These projects will produce measurable results and have tangible community support.

Project Description:
The purpose of the Caloosahatchee Partners for Restoration effort is to develop federal, state, and stakeholder consensus while prioritizing substantive short term water quality improvement construction projects that will immediately accelerate progress toward reducing nutrient loading while improving water quality and habitat. The restoration team focused on those projects that provide multiple diverse benefits. These benefits include: improving water quality in priority water bodies, water storage, flood protection, restoration, public recreation, and environmental education through outreach.

This request for the Caloosahatchee Partners for Restoration Team will fund 15 water quality construction projects, 2 habitat restoration projects, 1 structural best management practices agricultural program, and two recon/analysis projects. These projects are located in Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties and total over $20 million.

Each project selected by the Caloosahatchee Partners for Restoration Team was chosen because of the project�s diverse benefits. Each and every project has a water quality component that will significantly reduce nutrient loadings and pollutants. These water quality components include retention, detention, storage, filter marshes, sediment traps, hydrologic and plant community restoration,.
