Project Description: |
The current facility is 9,945 square feet and serves over 1/3 of the population of Holmes County. Utilizing current DOH parameters for construction of a new facility to meet the area growing heal needs, the new structure would approximate 18,000 square feet. Holmes Countys request for legislative support for this vital community project will be made in two phases at an estimated cost of $2,600,000 per phase. The larger facility would allow for the implementation of a practicum training program for nursing and various health care specialties offered at the vocational, community and four-year colleges within the region. The new facility would be a primary care facility with in integrated waiting room for the Dental Clinic, existing programs and the two additional programs to be implemented this year: Chronic Disease Prevention and Tobacco Prevention. An expansion of the facility would allow for enhancement of several existing programs, which include but are not limited to, Healthy Start, School Health, Family Planning, Vital Statistics and Environmental. |
