Project Description:
The East Putnam County Regional Wastewater Project is a two (2) phase project that will provide a regional wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal service to the communities east of the City of Palatka and along the eastern shore of the St. Johns River. The East Putnam County Regional System is proposed to intially include the unincorporated communities of East Palatka and North San Mateo in Phase 1. The unicoporated areas north of the East Palatka area and areas to the south including Dunns Creek will be served by a Phase 2 expansion of the proposed Phase 1 system. The proposed Phase 1 regional system will serve approximately 4,015 persons and the Florida Department of Corrections Putnam Correctional Institute with a maximum of 550 inmates. The Phase 1 system flow is estimated to be 0.48 million gallons per day (mgd) annual average daily flow (AADF). The Phase 1 total project cost is estimated to be $26,000,000 and will serve approximately 1,950 equivalent residential connections (ERUs). The future Phase 2 system will extend wastewater service to an additional 6,432 persons and generate an additional 0.48 mgd AADF for a total future system flow of 0.96 mgd AADF.
