Statewide Interest: |
Recently, gang-related crime has risen in Central Florida and throughout the State. Studies have shown that children who are alone after school are highly susceptible to the lure of gangs. An after-school mentoring program offers the perfect solution for (1) protecting children from gangs and (2) strengthening their resolve to reject the gang lifestyle by giving young people the knowledge they need to make the right decisions and achieve their fullest potential. |
