Project Description:
Sisters and Brothers Forever, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhance the quality of life for all Miami-Dade County residents. We currently provide assessment, mentoring/counseling, proper nutrition, senior citizen socialization activities, employability and life skills training, computer classes and employment services to youth, adults, and seniors. Our case managers perform a multi functional array of services that best determine their individual need. The components of our programs are the following: � Intake/Assessment - An individualized assessment of each participant's social need for on-going service delivery will be conducted. � Case Management Services - Individual and group counseling services will be provided. To include coordinated referrals and linkage to social and economic agencies. � Proper Nutrition - Daily hot meals (Monday thru Friday) are served in our facility. Home meal delivery is also provided to those seniors that are unable to travel to our facility because of poor health condition. � Socialization - Senior are provided with the opportunity for group socialization to discuss topics such as depression, loneliness, and dealing with change. � Entertainment - Throughout the year several activities are conducted such as, holiday festivities, etc. � Classes - A series of courses are provided: o English - Conversational English three (3) hours classes are offered on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. o Computer - Basic computer skills (three hours each day) are offered on Tuesday and Thursday. � Employment Services - Life Skills and Employability Training are conducted to included the following curriculum: issues that involve finding and retaining a job, job search, preparation of job applications, resume building, review of employer's expectations, handling a job interview, work ethics, dress code, career choices, payroll deductions, retirement plans, and employer benefits.

The program specific objectives that we are proposing to achieve are the following: � The recruitment and assessment of 400 participants. � 100 of participants enrolled in the program will receive a hot meal. � 400 participants will the opportunity to participate in Computer classes. � 400 participants will be provided with socialization activities. � 400 participants will be provided with employment services.
