Project Description:
The proposed request would permit the implementation of the third phase of the Villages Stormwater Master Plan. Specifically the project includes the connection to a pump station (currently under construction, the construction of an additional overflow structure to permit discharge into the Villages secondary flood control system and other drainage improvement structures near the Village boundary with the City of Miami Springs. In additional, due to physical constraints associated with the flood control upgrades the Village will have to replace a 1450 feet segment of water main.

Measurable Outcome Anticipated:
The project will improve the existing stormwater infrastructure system and minimize the frequency and duration of flooding within the Village. Additionally, the new structures will include pollution abatement measures consistent with current federal, state and local stromwater management system requirements.

The proposed drainage improvements are part of asecondary drainage system which discharges into the primary system via the C-6 and C-4 (Tamiami) Canals located in Miami-Dade county. These in turn discharge into the Miami River and Biscayne Bay. The project include stomrwater pollution abatement technologies to remove solids and other contaminants prior to discharge.
