This bill provides relief in the amount of $200,000 to the Estate of Alex Zaldivar and $100,000 each to Brienna Campos and Remington Campos. Alex Zaldivar, Brienna Campos, and Remington Campos were attacked and shot by Bessman Okafor during a home invasion robbery.
At the time of the robbery, Mr. Okafor was being monitored by the Community Corrections Division of the Orange County Corrections Department. Alex Zaldivar died of his wounds, and Brienna Campos and Remington Campos were injured.
If approved by the Governor, or allowed to become law without the Governor's signature, these provisions take effect upon becoming law.
