This bill authorizes and directs Florida State University to pay $1.8 million to Wendy Smith and Dennis Darling, Sr., to compensate them for the negligence of the university which led to the death of their son, Devaughn Darling. Devaughn collapsed and died while participating in preseason football training.
If approved by the Governor, or allowed to become law without the Governor's signature, these provisions take effect upon becoming law.
