Section: 08              EXPLANATION:

On Page: 356             Provides authorization for the Department of Law
                         Enforcement to provide performance-based increases to
Spec App:                employees pursuant to a performance-based compensation
                         plan.

        In Section 08  On Page 356

After Subparagraph F. of Section 8, INSERT a new subparagraph:

G.  SPECIAL PAY ISSUES
1)  Effective June 1, 2003, from the funds in Specific Appropriation
2163, $100,871 from the General Revenue Fund and $30,538 from Trust
Funds are provided to the Department of Law Enforcement to fund the
Performance Based Compensation Plan, as developed by the department, to
provide a 2 percent performance-based increase for those employees who
exceed performance expectations outlined in employee work plans.

Line item amendments are accepted as part of the amendatory process. However, due to the necessity of using computerized systems this may entail a different placement within a budget entity or the renumbering of the specific appropriation items.
