moved the following amendment:
Section: 07 EXPLANATION:
On Page: 331 This amendment shifts $2,490,906 from General Revenue
Fund to Grants and Donations Trust Fund in the trial
Spec App: 2943 court's salaries and benefits category. The same total
in General Revenue Fund is added to the following
categories: state attorney witness coordination
($941,863 and 21 FTE), state attorney operations
($293,327), state attorney due process services
($134,110), public defender due process services
($820,565), and the state courts Article V contingency
fund ($301,041). The shift in the courts' funding
properly reflects the current practice of state
attorneys and public defenders using court employees
for court reporter and court interpreter services.
State attorneys and public defenders will reimburse the
courts for the use of these services. The increases in
the state attorney and public defender categories
reflect adjustments to Article V implementation costs
warranted by further analyses of available cost data.
