The Committee on Transportation & Economic Development Appropriations (Hill)
recommended the following amendment:
Section: 06 EXPLANATION:
On Page: 031 This amendment provides $900,000 from the General
Revenue Fund for the Southwest United Communities, Inc.
Spec App: 2495 of Orlando for economic development of businesses in
economically underprivileged areas, depressed areas, or
areas devastated by the 2004 hurricanes. Funds are
obtained by a reduction in the economic development
tools funds provided to the Office of Tourism, Trade
and Economic Development, reducing that fund from $23.5
million to $22.6 million.

Funds from non-recurring general revenue in Specific Appropriation
2498 are allocated as follows:
Southwest United Communities, Inc..............................$900,000
Funds provided for Southwest United Communities, Inc. in Orange County
are to be used for development of locally operated businesses in
economically underprivileged, depressed areas or areas devastated by the
2004 hurricane season through financial assistance, education, and
training to improve skills to increase entrepreneurial images in the
Enterprise Zone Community.
Line item amendments are accepted as part of the amendatory process. However, due to the necessity of using computerized systems this may entail a different placement
within a budget entity or the renumbering of the specific appropriation items. |
