GENERAL BILL by Wilson ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Gannon
Transition to Teaching Pilot Program; creates said program with intent of addressing need of high-poverty school districts for teachers; provides for award of stipends; requires program participant to serve in high-poverty school district for 3 years; requires Education Commissioner to establish requirements to ensure that eligible program participants fulfill their service obligation or repay any stipend or financial incentive received; provides for program evaluation, etc. APPROPRIATION: $13,500,000.
