Middle Grades Reform Act; provides for implementation of rigorous reading requirement in certain schools; requires study of academic performance of middle grade students & schools with recommendations for increase in performance; requires school boards to address student health & fitness in school improvement plans; requires district school boards to develop physical education programs, etc. Creates 1003.415,.455; amends 1001.42, 1012.98,.34, 1008.25. APPROPRIATION: $445,000.
