GENERAL BILL by Dudley

Social Media Privacy; Prohibits employer from requesting or requiring access to social media account of employee or prospective employee; prohibits employer from taking retaliatory personnel action against employee as result of employee's refusal to allow access to his or her social media account; prohibits employer from failing or refusing to hire prospective employee as result of prospective employee's refusal to allow access to his or her social media account; authorizes civil action for violation; provides penalty for violation; provides for recovery of attorney fees & court costs; specifies that employer is not prohibited from seeking access to social media accounts used primarily for employer's business purposes.
