HB 277: Violent Criminal Offenses

Violent Criminal Offenses; Requires emergency communications state plan to include system to flag specified addresses; requires emergency medical technicians, paramedics, & firefighters to have training in domestic violence, dating violence, & strangulation; authorizes & requires court to order electronic monitoring in domestic & dating violence cases; authorizes certain persons to participate in domestic violence diversion program; provides requirements for such program; revises information law enforcement officer must provide to victim of alleged incident of domestic or dating violence; requires, if lethality assessment is performed, law enforcement officer or designated liaison to follow up with victim in a certain manner within specified amount of time; requires certain law enforcement officers to have their body camera turned on & recording when investigating allegation of domestic & dating violence; revises petitions for injunctions for domestic & dating violence; provides enhancement penalties for violation of injunction for protection against domestic & dating violence; increases dollar amounts for relocation assistance for victims of domestic violence.
