CS/HB 2147: Charter Schools
GENERAL BILL by Education Innovation ; Tullis ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Melvin ; Crist
Charter Schools; revises date through which district school board must receive charter school applications; authorizes such schools to be operated by municipalities or other public entities; prohibits charter school from hiring certain persons who have resigned in lieu of disciplinary action or have been dismissed for good cause; establishes charter school districts pilot program; provides for protection & indemnity of state & such school, etc. Amends Ch. 228, 235.42.
Effective Date: 07/01/1999 except as otherwise provided
