SB 860: State Correctional Facilities

GENERAL BILL by Saunders ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) KURTH ; Dyer ; Mitchell ; Geller

State Correctional Facilities; authorizes DOC to submit bid to Correctional Privatization Commission to finance, construct, & operate correctional facility; provides for dept. to operate such facility under same conditions allowed for private vendor; prohibits private vendor, DOC, or state political subdivision from housing out-of-state inmates who have been convicted of certain felonies involving use or threat of violence, etc. Creates 957.19; amends 957.03.
