SB 1580: Health Care/HMOs

GENERAL BILL by Campbell

Health Care/HMOs; requires HMOs to provide for resolution of grievances brought by subscribers; provides for party to appeal decision by utilization review organization to AHCA; provides that HMO is liable for damages for harm caused by failure to exercise ordinary care; requires that HMO refer subscriber to outside provider in cases in which there is not a provider within organization's network to provide covered benefit, etc. Amends Chs. 408, 627, 641.
