GENERAL BILL by Corrections ; Lawson ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Turnbull ; Trovillion

Correctional Facilities; prohibits DOC or CFS Dept. from locating state correctional institution or facility for sexually violent predators within specified distance from public or private school, child care facility, or place where children congregate; provides clarification re use, expansion, & renovation of existing structures, facilities, & institutions; requires public hearing; provides for CFS Dept. to request modification of any local plan or ordinance, etc.

Effective Date: Upon becoming law
