Transition to Teaching Pilot Program; creates said program with intent of addressing need of highpoverty school districts for teachers; provides procedures for applying to participate in program; provides for award of stipends; requires Education Commissioner to distribute awards equitably; requires program participant to serve in highpoverty school district for 3 years; provides funding for award of stipends; provides for program evaluation; authorizes adoption of rules, etc. APPROPRIATION: $13,500,000.
