SB 926: Misdemeanor Convictions

GENERAL BILL by Smith

Misdemeanor Convictions; defines term "habitual misdemeanor offender" to mean defendant who is convicted of certain number of misdemeanors within specified period; authorizes court to sentence habitual misdemeanor offender to extended term of imprisonment; prohibits court from sentencing defendant as habitual misdemeanor offender if defendant is subject to more severe penalty as result of reclassifying qualifying offense. Amends 775.082.
