CS/SB 1612: Workers' Compensation
GENERAL BILL by Banking and Insurance ; Posey
Workers' Compensation; redefines terms "employee" & "independent contractor"; prohibits exemptions from coverage for commercial construction job sites; specifies requirements for certificates of insurance that must be shown to receive building permit; requires & authorizes Workers' Compensation Div. to issue stop-work orders & to impose certain penalties against employers who fail to secure compensation; revises criteria for anti-fraud program, etc. Amends FS.
