SB 2444: Peat Mining

Peat Mining; provides requirements for wetlands reclamation activities for peat mining to be considered appropriate mitigation; provides legislative findings re excavation of peat from wetlands & reclamation of those lands; requires notice to Environmental Protection Secretary of new peat mine beginning operations after specified date; requires DEP to adopt specific reclamation standards by rule, etc. Amends 373.414, 378.403; creates 378.705.
