CS/SB 1896: Adoption Benefits

GENERAL BILL by Education ; Wilson ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Rich ; Jones ; Bennett ; Hill ; Smith ; Peaden ; Geller ; Margolis ; Lawson ; Campbell ; Bullard ; Miller

Adoption Benefits; defines term "qualifying adoptive parent"; expands categories of persons who are eligible to be qualifying adoptive parents; provides that such parent who adopts special-needs child is eligible to receive specified monetary benefit that is paid to adoptive parent in equal monthly installments over 1-year period; authorizes DMS to adopt rules to administer adoption benefits program. Amends 110.152,.15201.
