CS/SB 2304: Class Action Lawsuits

GENERAL BILL by Judiciary ; Baker

Class Action Lawsuits; provides requirements for capacity to file class action; limits actions to Florida residents; eliminates private class action recovery of statutory penalties in certain actions unless actual damages are alleged & proven; provides that Attorney General's ability to seek statutory penalties is not affected; provides for availability of nonmonetary relief; provides for no effect on such lawsuits involving civil rights laws, etc.
