Retirement/Special Risk Class [RPCC]; Cites this act as the "Adam Pierce Act." Revises the definition of "special risk member" effective August 1, 2007, to include firefighters, law enforcement officers, and correctional officers who are already qualified for and are actively participating in special risk membership, have suffered a qualifying injury, and are not receiving disability retirement benefits, etc.
