CS/CS/CS/SB 2404: Adult Protective Services [SPSC]

GENERAL BILL by Health and Human Services Appropriations ; Governmental Oversight and Accountability ; Children, Families, and Elder Affairs ; Storms ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Lynn

Adult Protective Services [SPSC]; Revises terminology. Defines the term "activities of daily living" and revises the term "vulnerable adult." Requires that the central abuse hotline, which is maintained by the DCFS, immediately transfer reports relating to vulnerable adults to the appropriate county sheriff's office. Authorizes the DCFS to file a petition to determine incapacity. Prohibits the DCFS from acting as guardian or providing legal counsel to the guardian, etc.
