SB 2480: Schools/Students with Disabilities/Restraint [SPSC]

GENERAL BILL by Gardiner ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Fasano

Schools/Students with Disabilities/Restraint [SPSC]; Prohibits school personnel from manually physically restraining a student with disabilities. Provides an exception in emergency cases when there is a imminent and significant threat to the physical safety of the student or others. Prohibits mechanical restraint, prone restraint, and other specified methods of restraint. Requires the school to medically evaluate a student as soon as possible after the student is manually physically restrained, etc.
