GENERAL BILL by Wilson
Public School Student Progression [SPSC]; Provides a process by which the retention of a third grade student who exhibits a reading deficiency may be appealed. Provides for exemption from mandatory retention through successful appeal. Requires the Department of Education to establish an appeal process. Specifies circumstances recognized as justification for granting an appeal. Requires assessment and evaluation. Provides for reporting.
