SB 1828: Credit Counseling Services

GENERAL BILL by Richter

Credit Counseling Services; Requires that debt management and credit counseling services be provided pursuant to a debt management or debt settlement plan. Requires the credit counseling agency to make certain disclosures to the debtor before the debtor consents to payment. Prohibits the agency from making certain misrepresentations to the debtor. Provides certain conditions that the agency must meet before receiving payment. Authorizes the agency to hold funds in order to allow the funds to accumulate, etc.
