GENERAL BILL by Health and Human Services Committee ; Health and Human Services Quality Subcommittee ; McBurney ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Campbell

Controlled Substances; Adds American Board of Medical Specialties to recognized certification entities for certain purposes; deletes rheumatoid arthritis from exception to definition of term "chronic nonmalignant pain"; requires physicians licensed under specified provisions & prescribing controlled substances listed in Schedule II, Schedule III, or Schedule IV to meet specified requirements; provides exemptions from certain provisions for rheumatologists; permits rheumatologists to own pain clinics; adds physician multispecialty practice to permitted ownership forms of pain-management clinics; prohibits knowing use in another manner of Schedule II controlled substance intended to be administered orally.
