GENERAL BILL by Judiciary ; Diaz de la Portilla

Dispute Resolution; Revising the short title of the “Florida Arbitration Code” to the “Revised Florida Arbitration Code”; providing that an agreement may waive or vary the effect of statutory arbitration provisions; providing for petitions for judicial relief; providing for service of notice of an initial petition for such relief; requiring a court to decide whether an agreement to arbitrate exists or a controversy is subject to an agreement to arbitrate; providing for consolidation of separate arbitration proceedings as to all or some of the claims in certain circumstances; providing immunity from civil liability for an arbitrator or an arbitration organization acting in the capacity of an arbitrator, etc.
