CS/SB 1648: Department of Citrus
GENERAL BILL by Agriculture ; Hays ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Dean
Department of Citrus; Revising the short title of Ch. 601 to the "Florida Citrus Code"; providing for the appointment, compensation, and powers and duties of the department’s executive director; revising the qualifications and terms of members of the Florida Citrus Commission; revising the powers and duties of the department to adopt maturity and quality standards for citrus fruit and food products thereof; authorizing the department to establish standards limiting increases in spacing between stacked field boxes caused by the placement of cleats or other devices on the field boxes; specifying that the amount of bonds or certificates of deposit that must be furnished by citrus fruit dealer licensees shall be determined by the department pursuant to department rules, etc.
