GENERAL BILL by Kriseman

Legal and Medical Referral Service Advertising; Requires advertising from medical or lawyer referral service related to accidents or injuries to comply with certain requirements regarding content; requires advertisements or unsolicited written communications from certain legal referral services related to accidents or injuries to comply with Supreme Court of Florida's Rules Regulating The Florida Bar; requires that published advertisements from lawyer referral service be filed with The Florida Bar along with affidavit meeting certain criteria; requires advertisements or unsolicited written communications from lawyer referral service to display certain information; requires referring medical or lawyer referral service to obtain certain information from person referred to lawyer or health care provider; prohibits lawyer referral services & medical referral services from conditioning participation in those services on recommending certain other services; prohibits medical referral service from making referrals only to medical clinic or health care provider in which it has financial or ownership interest unless service includes in its advertisements notice of that interest & limitation; provides civil & criminal penalties for violations relating to legal & medical referral advertising & relief to persons affected; provides for disposition of proceeds of civil penalties collected; provides for cumulative effect; provides for severability.
